{"id":5506,"date":"2024-03-26T16:16:59","date_gmt":"2024-03-26T23:16:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=5506"},"modified":"2025-05-06T13:00:51","modified_gmt":"2025-05-06T20:00:51","slug":"control-tech-trnee","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/classified-staff\/control-tech-trnee\/","title":{"rendered":"Control Tech Trnee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>18827 (NE S WFSE Trades)<br \/>\n22820 (NE H NI WFSE Trades)<\/p>\n<p><strong>DEFINITION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Perform semi-skilled work of graduated complexity pertinent to the control technician class under &#8220;training&#8221; in the college or university&#8217;s building maintenance and alterations program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Positions in this class are distinguished by assignment as a trainee for the control technician class receiving on-the-job and academic training to achieve journey-worker status.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under guidance of a journey-worker, perform various maintenance and alteration duties, with special emphasis on those duties required to complete the specific on-the-job control technician training program;<\/p>\n<p>Obtain, prepare and deliver materials to the job site and assist in assembly and installation;<\/p>\n<p>Clean up and maintain shop areas, work sites and storage areas;<\/p>\n<p>Complete on-the-job control technician training program requirements;<\/p>\n<p>Complete related academic training which will consist of designated trades school and\/or correspondence courses as available and applicable to the control technician class;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties and functions as specified in approved training program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>High School graduation or equivalent; OR six months&#8217; experience as a maintenance aide, or equivalent.
