{"id":5502,"date":"2024-03-26T16:15:56","date_gmt":"2024-03-26T23:15:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=5502"},"modified":"2024-08-02T11:31:40","modified_gmt":"2024-08-02T18:31:40","slug":"control-technician-lead","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/classified-staff\/control-technician-lead\/","title":{"rendered":"Control Technician Lead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>18829 (NE S WFSE Trades)<br \/>\n22822 (NE H NI WFSE Trades)<\/p>\n<p><strong>DEFINITION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lead and work with control technicians to perform journey-worker level work in the inspection, testing, servicing, and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, and electrical controls for heating, air-conditioning, and related equipment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Positions in this class are distinguished by responsibility to lead journey-worker control technicians on a project or at a job location, to instruct other assigned workers, to correct and specify methods, and to perform skilled repair, maintenance, and installation on mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and electronic controls.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Perform all duties of a Control Technician;<\/p>\n<p>Lead assigned personnel in the performance of work;<\/p>\n<p>Assure adherence to safety rules and precautions by assigned personnel;<\/p>\n<p>Develop preliminary cost estimates for installation and repair;<\/p>\n<p>Develop methods and procedures to be followed by assigned personnel;<\/p>\n<p>May perform work in other trades;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One year of full-time experience as a journey control technician, or equivalent trade skill.
