{"id":5488,"date":"2024-03-26T16:11:53","date_gmt":"2024-03-26T23:11:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=5488"},"modified":"2025-05-06T13:16:21","modified_gmt":"2025-05-06T20:16:21","slug":"copy-center-supervisor","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/classified-staff\/copy-center-supervisor\/","title":{"rendered":"Copy Center Supervisor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>17650 (NE S SEIU 925 Supv)<br \/>\n22389 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Supv)<\/p>\n<p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Supervise copy center equipment operators and\/or other staff engaged in copy services; coordinate client requests; maintain records and supplies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With delegated authority, interview and recommend selection of applicants, conduct training, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary action.<\/p>\n<p>Under general direction, supervise the operations of all staff, including hourly and student employees, in a full-service copy center involved in production using a variety of equipment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Plan, schedule, determine priorities and direct work of staff engaged in the reproduction of a large variety of forms, instructional materials, reports, and other printed materials;<\/p>\n<p>Train employees in the operation, adjustment, and care of high-speed photocopy equipment;<\/p>\n<p>Supervise employees engaged in sorting, collating, stapling, binding, cutting, and shipping of finished materials;<\/p>\n<p>Approve leave of classified staff and students\/hourly employees;<\/p>\n<p>Review and sign 220 forms;<\/p>\n<p>Order supplies and equipment parts; evaluate and recommend equipment purchases;<\/p>\n<p>Respond to inquiries regarding copy services policies and procedures; meet with vendors, clients, and staff;<\/p>\n<p>Ensure equipment maintenance by planning and scheduling periodic inspections and repairs by vendors;<\/p>\n<p>Maintain production and inventory records; calculate and authorize billing for supplies and services provided; process chargebacks; adjust pricing when necessary;<\/p>\n<p>Provide demonstrations and training for users;<\/p>\n<p>May be responsible for copyright information and compliance;<\/p>\n<p>Assist clients with digital technology including file transfers, printing from disk, etc;<\/p>\n<p>Provide outstanding customer service;<\/p>\n<p>May supervise mailroom operations;<\/p>\n<p>May supervise a delivery service;<\/p>\n<p>May operate production equipment when necessary;<\/p>\n<p>Perform duties of Copy Center Coordinator 2;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>High school graduate and three years of experience working with high-speed xerography\/digital equipment in a production environment.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>01\/03\/1973: New Class<br \/>\n07\/02\/1990: Revise MQ<br \/>\n07\/01\/1996: Revise Class<br \/>\n01\/01\/2001: Revise Class<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 17650 (NE S SEIU 925 Supv) 22389 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Supv) BASIC FUNCTION Supervise copy center equipment operators and\/or other staff engaged in [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":96,"featured_media":0,"parent":12,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"no","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-5488","page","type-page","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
