{"id":5434,"date":"2024-03-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-26T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=5434"},"modified":"2026-06-27T19:03:52","modified_gmt":"2026-06-28T02:03:52","slug":"dental-laboratory-technician-3","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/dental-laboratory-technician-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Dental Laboratory Technician 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>18462 (NE S SEIU 925 HCP\/LT)<br \/>\n22626 (NE H NI SEIU 925 HCP\/LT)<\/p>\n<p><strong>DEFINITION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Supervise the dental technician personnel in a dental laboratory.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Positions in this class are distinguished by responsibility for supervising the general function of the laboratory and maintain a liaison with, and providing assistance in dental auxiliary training programs at community colleges.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Train, schedule, and direct the work of subordinates; control the quality standards of the laboratory work performed;<\/p>\n<p>Assist in laboratory and clinical instruction of dental students where technical assistance is required;<\/p>\n<p>Direct subordinate technicians participating in activities which aid faculty members and graduate students in their clinical and research projects and with the development of teaching material;<\/p>\n<p>Control the ordering, issuing and maintenance of laboratory supplies including precious metals;<\/p>\n<p>Maintain liaison with community colleges on dental technician training programs;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>High School graduation and four years of experience as a Dental Laboratory Technician, one of which must have been at the Dental Laboratory Technician II level.
