Works independently under general direction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Review and evaluate manuscripts submitted for publication; recommend expert readers and review their reports;<\/p>\n<p>Recruit manuscripts by contacting authors; originate and develop ideas for books, monographs, articles;<\/p>\n<p>Work with authors on development of ideas for books, monographs, articles, and on revisions to improve organization, style, and clarity of material; may recommend illustrative materials;<\/p>\n<p>Edit manuscripts and prepare them for publication;<\/p>\n<p>Read and correct galley proofs as required;<\/p>\n<p>Establish and maintain publication schedules and coordinate these schedules with production personnel to assure conformance with publication specifications;<\/p>\n<p>Recommend design, format, type faces, illustrative materials;<\/p>\n<p>May write original copy for publications;<\/p>\n<p>May plan and maintain budgets;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in English, journalism, humanities, or related fields; AND two years of editing experience; OR six years of combined college education and editing experience; OR six years of full-time publication and\/or editing experience.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>02\/07\/1973: New Class<br \/>\n12\/14\/1973: Revise Class<br \/>\n09\/16\/1976: Revise Class<br \/>\n05\/01\/2000: New Class<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 17757 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv) 22424 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv) DEFINITION Evaluate and edit written research materials (articles, monographs, journals, [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":96,"featured_media":0,"parent":12,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"no","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-5402","page","type-page","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
