{"id":5398,"date":"2024-03-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-26T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=5398"},"modified":"2026-06-27T19:03:42","modified_gmt":"2026-06-28T02:03:42","slug":"elec-trade-trainee","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/elec-trade-trainee\/","title":{"rendered":"Elec Trade Trainee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>18832 (NE S WFSE Trades)<br \/>\n22825 (NE H NI WFSE Trades)<\/p>\n<p><strong>DEFINITION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Perform semi-skilled work of graduated complexity pertinent to the electrician journey class under &#8220;training&#8221; in the college or university&#8217;s building maintenance and alterations program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Positions in this class are distinguished by assignment as a trade trainee for the electrician journey class receiving on-the-job and academic training to achieve journey status.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under guidance of a journeyworker, perform various maintenance and alteration duties, with special emphasis on those duties required to complete the specific on-the-job electrician trades training program;<\/p>\n<p>Obtain, prepare, and deliver materials to the job site and assist in assembly and installation;<\/p>\n<p>Clean up and maintain shop areas, work sites, and storage areas;<\/p>\n<p>Complete on-the-job electrician trades training program requirements;<\/p>\n<p>Complete related academic training which will consist of designated trades school and\/or correspondence courses as available and applicable to the electrician journey class;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties and functions as specified in approved trades training program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>High school graduation or equivalent; OR six months&#8217; experience as a maintenance aide, or equivalent.
