{"id":5388,"date":"2024-03-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-26T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=5388"},"modified":"2026-06-27T19:03:40","modified_gmt":"2026-06-28T02:03:40","slug":"electrocardiograph-laboratory-supervisor","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/electrocardiograph-laboratory-supervisor\/","title":{"rendered":"Electrocardiograph Laboratory Supervisor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>18298 (NE S SEIU 925 Supv)<br \/>\n22555 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Supv)<\/p>\n<p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Supervise ECG Technologists and related staff; oversee technical aspects of the ECG laboratory and patient treatment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Distinguishing Characteristics:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under general direction, supervise and provide technical oversight to ECG staffs performing work in the laboratory and patient treatment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Typical Work:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With delegated authority, interview and recommend selection of applicants, train new employees, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary action;<\/p>\n<p>Check equipment availability and function;<\/p>\n<p>Order supplies and equipment; review and evaluate new products; recommend appropriate purchases;<\/p>\n<p>Develop new programs and tests in coordination with physicians;<\/p>\n<p>Compile monthly and annual administrative reports of the ECG laboratory and patient statistics;<\/p>\n<p>Arrange for temporary employees to facilitate efficient functioning of the ECG laboratory;<\/p>\n<p>Conduct tours of the ECG and Treadmill laboratory to visiting groups;<\/p>\n<p>Perform the duties of the ECG Technologist 2;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>High school graduation; two years of experience as an ECG Technologist 2 or equivalent; certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation;<\/p>\n<p>AND<\/p>\n<p>Certified by the National Alliance of Cardiovascular Technologists.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>10\/12\/1973: New Class<br \/>\n10\/21\/1985: Revise Class<br \/>\n07\/02\/1990: Revise MQ<br \/>\n07\/01\/2009: Revised new class code: (formerly 6367) effective 07\/01\/2009<br \/>\n07\/01\/2014: New Class Title; Class adopted for UW contract classified staff per PERC decision to add this title to SEIU 925 University-wide Supervisory bargaining unit, effective 06\/02\/2014 (Case #2639-E-14-3856).
