Conduct technical review of fire safety programs, plans, and procedures developed by consulting architects, engineers, and\/or department personnel. Lead assigned personnel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Regularly assign, instruct, and check the work of employees;<\/p>\n<p>Direct professional personnel involved in the development, design, and final approval of plans and specifications for life safety equipment, systems, and construction of capital alterations and new installations;<\/p>\n<p>Develop design criteria for life safety systems: analyze, review, and guide the work of consultants, engineers, and contractors through the design, construction, and acceptance phases of projects;<\/p>\n<p>In collaboration with department administrators, review, and approve such documents as mechanical, electrical, and architectural change orders, purchase orders, and\/or other documents affective life safety system design and installation;<\/p>\n<p>Initiate and maintain contacts with local, city, county, state, and federal agency staffs involved with life safety and fire protection engineering applications;<\/p>\n<p>Represent the institution in technical code and standard committees;<\/p>\n<p>May perform duties of Fire Protection Engineer;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Certification as a registered professional fire protection engineer or certification as a safety professional (fire) or professional safety engineer (fire); AND three years of experience as a Fire Protection Engineer or equivalent.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>10\/19\/1984: New Class<br \/>\n07\/02\/1990: Revise MQ<br \/>\n05\/01\/2000: New to CSA<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 17684 (E S SEIU 925 Non Supv) 21760 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv) 22401 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv) BASIC FUNCTION Coordinate [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":96,"featured_media":0,"parent":12,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"no","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-5334","page","type-page","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
