{"id":5320,"date":"2024-03-26T14:50:58","date_gmt":"2024-03-26T21:50:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=5320"},"modified":"2025-05-09T10:55:28","modified_gmt":"2025-05-09T17:55:28","slug":"foreign-admissions-evaluator","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/classified-staff\/foreign-admissions-evaluator\/","title":{"rendered":"Foreign Admissions Evaluator"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>17488 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv)<br \/>\n22322 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv)<\/p>\n<p><strong>DEFINITION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Evaluate foreign credentials for admission to a University or College Program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Positions in this class are distinguished by responsibility for performing graduate admission evaluation of foreign student applicants requiring knowledge of foreign grading systems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Determine level of education applicant has attained, counseling references for clarification of a wide variety of foreign degrees, certificates, licenses, etc.;<\/p>\n<p>Determine accreditation of institution attended, grade point average, language proficiency and financial status of student applicant;<\/p>\n<p>Interpret grades awarded on a wide variety of grading scales;<\/p>\n<p>Evaluate foreign credentials and transmit evaluation and file to department for acceptance decision;<\/p>\n<p>Notify student of denial or admission; in the latter case, outline further procedures related to immigration, language tests, etc.; enclose application for student visa;<\/p>\n<p>Answer correspondence from applicants who have been educated in foreign countries;<\/p>\n<p>Serve as a source of information regarding foreign institutions and the acceptability of their credit to the University;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>High School diploma; AND three years of experience in University admissions work, or equivalent college education; OR a combination of three years of applicable education and experience.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>09\/14\/1973: New Class<br \/>\n03\/17\/1977: Revise Class<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 17488 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv) 22322 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv) DEFINITION Evaluate foreign credentials for admission to a University or [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":96,"featured_media":0,"parent":12,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"no","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-5320","page","type-page","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
