{"id":5256,"date":"2024-03-26T14:07:51","date_gmt":"2024-03-26T21:07:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=5256"},"modified":"2025-05-22T10:44:33","modified_gmt":"2025-05-22T17:44:33","slug":"hospital-assistant-lead","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/classified-staff\/hospital-assistant-lead\/","title":{"rendered":"Hospital Assistant Lead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>18577 (NE S WFSE Campuswide)<br \/>\n22700 (NE H NI WFSE Campuswide)<\/p>\n<p>18709 (NE S WFSE HMC)<br \/>\n22774 (NE H NI WFSE HMC)<\/p>\n<p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lead and provide information to Hospital Assistants and volunteers; perform routine tasks in direct and indirect patient care, transportation, and maintenance of a patient care area such as assisting patients with daily living activities; preparing patients for surgery; performing non-invasive lab procedures, transporting patients, equipment and supplies; assisting with treatments, and conducting various clerical tasks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under general supervision, regularly assign, instruct and check the work of others. Assist in carrying out the services of the unit by serving as a contact for other patient care providers, resolving problems, collecting and analyzing quality control data, and developing and presenting inservices to Hospital Assistants.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Develop and implement the daily staffing schedule;<\/p>\n<p>Serve as point of contact to other patient care providers;<\/p>\n<p>Assist technologists and other staff in resolving problems concerning equipment functioning, staff coverage, and interpretation of policies &amp; procedures;<\/p>\n<p>Provide input to supervisors on performance of Hospital Assistants;<\/p>\n<p>Collect and analyze data for use in quality control functions;<\/p>\n<p>Serve as information resource to Hospital Assistants in such areas as automated information systems, supply delivery schedules, and equipment assembly;<\/p>\n<p>Develop and present inservices to Hospital Assistant staff;<\/p>\n<p>Perform the work of Hospital Assistants;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>High school graduation or equivalent AND one year of hospital assistant experience in an acute hospital setting.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>09\/11\/1998: New Class<br \/>\n02\/10\/1999: Revise MQ<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 18577 (NE S WFSE Campuswide) 22700 (NE H NI WFSE Campuswide) 18709 (NE S WFSE HMC) 22774 (NE H NI WFSE HMC) BASIC FUNCTION Lead [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":96,"featured_media":0,"parent":12,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"no","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-5256","page","type-page","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
