{"id":5234,"date":"2024-03-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-26T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=5234"},"modified":"2026-06-27T19:02:53","modified_gmt":"2026-06-28T02:02:53","slug":"imaging-technologist-education-quality-assurance","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/imaging-technologist-education-quality-assurance\/","title":{"rendered":"Imaging Technologist-Education Quality Assurance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>18278 (NE S SEIU 925 HCP\/LT)<br \/>\n22549 (NE H NI SEIU 925 HCP\/LT)<\/p>\n<p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Establish and maintain quality assurance and\/or education programs to ensure imaging and recording systems function accurately, consistently, and safely to produce quality diagnostic images and\/or to ensure sufficient clinical training and inservice education in imaging technology.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under general direction, establish and maintain quality assurance program for all imaging technology services and\/or student clinical and inservice education programs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Coordinate the quality assurance program for all divisions; participate in hospital-wide quality assurance activities;<\/p>\n<p>Teach quality assurance and documentation procedure;<\/p>\n<p>Develop curricula for and conduct inservice education programs; consult with management, technical, and medical staff to develop goals and objectives of inservice education; submit inservice education programs to the national registry organization for evaluation; schedule and publicize inservice programs; maintain inservice education records; coordinate student clinical education program; direct and evaluate student performance in clinic; maintain student clinical records;<\/p>\n<p>Monitor monthly indicators on selected criteria for each area of the department; analyze and evaluate data collected from the indicators and from risk management reports; identify and report trends;<\/p>\n<p>Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures related to quality assurance and to clinical and continuing education including membership in professional organizations; maintain the departmental policy and procedure manual ensuring compliance with JCAHO standards and hospital policy;<\/p>\n<p>Maintain and update department library;<\/p>\n<p>Process incident\/accident\/quality improvement report forms;<\/p>\n<p>Coordinate orientation of students and staff;<\/p>\n<p>Monitor radiology film badge readings; collect and distribute badges;<\/p>\n<p>File and distribute reports;<\/p>\n<p>May assist in technique standardization projects and\/or quality assurance program;<\/p>\n<p>May conduct, analyze and report on staff and customer satisfaction surveys;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA-approved school AND registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) AND three years of experience as an Imaging Technologist II, or equivalent.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p>Legal Requirement<\/p>\n<p>Certified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>01\/19\/2001: New Class<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<br \/>\n09\/16\/2010: New to SEIU 925 Medical\/Laboratory Tech<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 18278 (NE S SEIU 925 HCP\/LT) 22549 (NE H NI SEIU 925 HCP\/LT) BASIC FUNCTION Establish and maintain quality assurance and\/or education programs to ensure imaging and recording systems function accurately, consistently, and safely to produce quality diagnostic images and\/or to ensure sufficient clinical training and inservice education in imaging technology.
