{"id":5154,"date":"2024-03-24T18:38:32","date_gmt":"2024-03-25T01:38:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=5154"},"modified":"2025-05-22T11:36:53","modified_gmt":"2025-05-22T18:36:53","slug":"locksmith-lead","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/classified-staff\/locksmith-lead\/","title":{"rendered":"Locksmith Lead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>18845 (NE S WFSE Trades)<br \/>\n22837 (NE H NI WFSE Trades)<\/p>\n<p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lead and work with locksmiths employing journey skills in the repair, installation, and construction of locking devices and keys.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Positions in this class are distinguished by the responsibility to lead qualified locksmiths on a project or at a job location, to instruct other workers, to correct and specify methods, and to perform work in the repair, installation, and construction of locking devices and keys.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Perform all duties of a locksmith;<\/p>\n<p>Lead assigned personnel in the performance of work;<\/p>\n<p>Assure adherence to safety rules, regulations, and precautions by assigned personnel;<\/p>\n<p>Develop preliminary cost estimates for installation and repair of locking devices and equipment as required;<\/p>\n<p>Develop methods and procedures to be followed by assigned personnel;<\/p>\n<p>May perform work in other trades;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One year, full-time experience as a journey locksmith or equivalent trade skill. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator&#8217;s license may be required.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Higher Education job class, 5376, Locksmith Lead was adopted 01-03-73, revised minimum qualifications adopted 07-02-90.<\/p>\n<p>General Education class code (5376) revised to DOP job class, 615F and revised class definition and distinguishing characteristics adopted 05-10-07, effective 07-01-07.
