May select, train, and evaluate employees and participate in employee discipline.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Assist in overseeing craft supervisors in construction and maintenance activities;<\/p>\n<p>Follow up on departmental inquiries and complaints to effect remedial actions and timely project completions;<\/p>\n<p>Collaborate with physical plant management personnel to coordinate engineering functions with construction and maintenance activities;<\/p>\n<p>Review, write and schedule work orders and maintenance requests for all crafts and balance manpower requirements with manpower availability;<\/p>\n<p>Assist in building inspections and data collecting to determine necessary repairs and project costs, assist in budget preparation for physical plant operations;<\/p>\n<p>Conduct surveys, analyze systems and prepare reports on maintenance, construction, planning and estimating, utility production, motor pool, budgetary, and related activities;<\/p>\n<p>Prepare and maintain physical plant operational, property inventory, and space inventory records;<\/p>\n<p>May supervise lower level positions;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Five years of work experience in physical plant operations. College training with a major in business administration, mechanical engineering or an allied discipline may be substituted, year-for-year, for up to four years of the work experience.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>05\/17\/1973: New Class<br \/>\n11\/13\/1975: Revise Code &amp;
