Under general supervision, perform custodial duties and, under direct supervision, simple maintenance assignments requiring minimal building and trades skills.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Clean and maintain floors, walls, windows, carpets, furniture, chalk boards; clean and sanitize restrooms\/shower rooms and fixtures; empty trash containers; set-up and move furniture required for special events;<\/p>\n<p>Use power equipment and hand tools such as broom, mop, squeegee, buffer, polisher and vacuum required for the cleaning and custodial maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture; use ladders when required in work assignments;<\/p>\n<p>Replace light bulbs, tissue and restroom supplies; replace light switches and rewire lamps;<\/p>\n<p>Lock and unlock buildings; secure building when facilities are not in use by checking for unlocked doors, windows; report any unauthorized occupants;<\/p>\n<p>Construct simple items such as door stops and bookshelves; make routine repairs to locks, floors, walls, ceilings; replace broken windows; clean and paint surfaces;<\/p>\n<p>Under direct supervision, perform minor repairs on electrical circuits, steam or water lines, plumbing fixtures, lights and partitions; clean clogged drains and sewer lines;<\/p>\n<p>May manually or with self-propelled equipment remove snow or debris from sidewalks, stairs, driveways, entry ways; mow grass; help maintain campus grounds;<\/p>\n<p>May operate motorized equipment;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Physical ability to do required work; AND one year of experience in custodial or general maintenance work.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>01\/03\/1973: New Class<br \/>\n05\/17\/1973: Revise Class<br \/>\n11\/01\/1981: Revise Class<br \/>\n07\/02\/1990: Revise MQ<br \/>\n07\/01\/1996: Revise Class<br \/>\n07\/01\/1997: Salary Revised<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 18543 (NE S WFSE Campuswide) 22671 (NE H NI WFSE Campuswide) 18665 (NE S WFSE HMC) 22737 (NE H NI WFSE HMC) CLASS SERIES CONCEPT Perform custodial and building, facility and equipment maintenance work.
