{"id":5082,"date":"2024-03-24T18:07:54","date_gmt":"2024-03-25T01:07:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=5082"},"modified":"2025-05-22T13:20:03","modified_gmt":"2025-05-22T20:20:03","slug":"media-maintenance-supervisor","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/classified-staff\/media-maintenance-supervisor\/","title":{"rendered":"Media Maintenance Supervisor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>17532 (E S SEIU 925 Supv)<br \/>\n17827 (NE S SEIU 925 Supv)<br \/>\n22342 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Supv)<\/p>\n<p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Supervise assigned personnel and direct the activities of a media maintenance department.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under general direction, with delegated authority, interview and recommend selection of applicants, conduct training, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary actions.<\/p>\n<p>Provide technical support such as: assigning and reviewing maintenance and repair activities; writing specifications for the purchase of media equipment; consulting on the planning, design, and installation of media equipment and systems; developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs; assisting in the development of budget requests; monitoring budgets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Provide technical instruction and guidance to Media Maintenance personnel on repair, operation, and installation procedures;<\/p>\n<p>Establish work schedules, instruct and direct difficult work operations, inspect work in progress and assure that standards of quality required by work are met;<\/p>\n<p>Survey, research, design, and develop partial or complete media systems evaluate new equipment to determine applications and limitations;<\/p>\n<p>Analyze media systems and identify appropriate maintenance requirements;<\/p>\n<p>Develop and monitor preventive maintenance programs;<\/p>\n<p>Write maintenance specifications for audio-visual, tele-communications, and media equipment and systems;<\/p>\n<p>Assist in budget preparation and monitor budget expenditures;<\/p>\n<p>Purchase (or direct the purchase of) parts and supplies; oversee inventory control;<\/p>\n<p>Consult with faculty and staff on equipment purchases and media installations; provide cost estimates when requested;<\/p>\n<p>Assist in formulating and enforcing safety rules and assure cleanliness in accordance with area requirements;<\/p>\n<p>Repair and maintain various audio, video, audio-visual, television, satellite, or other media equipment or systems;<\/p>\n<p>May perform limited maintenance or repair on computers;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One year of experience as a Media Maintenance Technician III or Lead<\/p>\n<p>OR<\/p>\n<p>Five years of experience as a media maintenance technician.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>03\/07\/1973: New Class<br \/>\n09\/19\/1975: Revise Class<br \/>\n10\/06\/1989: Revise Class<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 17532 (E S SEIU 925 Supv) 17827 (NE S SEIU 925 Supv) 22342 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Supv) BASIC FUNCTION Supervise assigned personnel and [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":96,"featured_media":0,"parent":12,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"no","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-5082","page","type-page","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
