{"id":5059,"date":"2024-03-20T15:47:43","date_gmt":"2024-03-20T22:47:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=5059"},"modified":"2025-05-22T13:21:48","modified_gmt":"2025-05-22T20:21:48","slug":"media-maintenance-technician-3","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/classified-staff\/media-maintenance-technician-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Media Maintenance Technician 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>17531 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv)<br \/>\n22341 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv)<\/p>\n<p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Perform complex media maintenance work troubleshooting, maintaining, constructing, installing and repairing media and\/or multi-media equipment and systems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under general direction, perform complex media maintenance, construction and repair work as a senior level technician such as: designing and constructing specialized multi-media interfaces; recommending update or replacement service work for major media control systems; assisting in media installation planning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, install, and test media equipment and systems such as television monitors, amplifiers, video cameras, 24 channel mixing consoles, special effects generators, video tape machines, satellite reception systems, videotape edit suites, projectors, audio recording monitoring equipment, digital audio-processing equipment, theater lighting systems, audio\/video distribution systems;<\/p>\n<p>Following general description of functions, schematics, and specifications, design specialized complex electronic media apparatus and\/or installations such as audio or video distribution systems; generate block diagrams, design circuits, and select components; build using hand and power tools; prepare appropriate documentation including instruction manuals;<\/p>\n<p>Recommend update and\/or replacement service work for major media control systems;<\/p>\n<p>Assist in media installation planning;<\/p>\n<p>Use electronic test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, sweep generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, ohmmeters, counters, logic probes, function generators, distortion meters, waveform monitors, and bridge capacitance meters, etc. to troubleshoot malfunction(s) to system, board or component level using diagnostic software as needed to locate malfunction(s); Use hand and power tools such as drill presses, lathes, soldering guns, grinders, etc.;<\/p>\n<p>Perform mechanical, electro-mechanical, or electronic repair(s) to system, board, or component level; calibrate and\/or test for proper operation;<\/p>\n<p>Perform preventive maintenance on equipment; test, diagnose, adjust and calibrate to appropriate standards;<\/p>\n<p>Assist in making, or make arrangements for vendor services;<\/p>\n<p>May develop inventory lists; order, stock, catalog and store electronic components; may maintain technical reference library and maintain database files for equipment inventory;<\/p>\n<p>May direct the work of others;<\/p>\n<p>May perform limited maintenance or repair on computers;<\/p>\n<p>May set up and operate media display or recording systems for special events;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One year of experience as a Media Maintenance Technician II<\/p>\n<p>OR<\/p>\n<p>Four years of experience as a media maintenance technician.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>03\/07\/1973: New Class<br \/>\n09\/19\/1975: Revise Class<br \/>\n10\/06\/1989: Revise Class, Title<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 17531 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv) 22341 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv) BASIC FUNCTION Perform complex media maintenance work troubleshooting, maintaining, constructing, [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":96,"featured_media":0,"parent":12,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"no","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-5059","page","type-page","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
