{"id":4994,"date":"2024-03-20T13:06:15","date_gmt":"2024-03-20T20:06:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=4994"},"modified":"2025-05-22T13:51:49","modified_gmt":"2025-05-22T20:51:49","slug":"messenger-driver-lead","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/classified-staff\/messenger-driver-lead\/","title":{"rendered":"Messenger Driver Lead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>17729 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv)<br \/>\n22415 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv)<\/p>\n<p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lead others and perform delivery and pick-up activities for campus delivery service.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Regularly assign, instruct and check the work of others.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Organize work for campus delivery service personnel;<\/p>\n<p>Maintain records and scheduling (quarterly, daily and special);<\/p>\n<p>Provide supervisor with estimate of campus delivery service staffing and equipment needs;<\/p>\n<p>Deliver library, building and office supplies, laboratory specimens, audio-visual equipment, tapes, books, U.S. and campus mail and motor pool vehicles; make daily deliveries and pickups to downtown business outlets and other off-campus locations;<\/p>\n<p>Load and unload vehicles; hand deliver light items to destination;<\/p>\n<p>Issue memos and schedules to inform faculty and staff of services, hours, and priorities; inform staff and faculty how to fill out delivery request cards;<\/p>\n<p>Oversee checkout procedures for Learning Resource Center equipment; complete equipment requests when incomplete;<\/p>\n<p>May organize, issue, and retrieve keys; maintain delivery cabinets at facilities;<\/p>\n<p>Perform the duties of a Messenger Driver;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Six months of experience as a Messenger Driver OR equivalent education\/experience AND possession of a valid vehicle operator&#8217;s license.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>06\/22\/1976: New Class<br \/>\n10\/06\/1989: Revise Class and Title<br \/>\n10\/15\/2003: New to SEIU<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 17729 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv) 22415 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv) BASIC FUNCTION Lead others and perform delivery and pick-up activities [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":96,"featured_media":0,"parent":12,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"no","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-4994","page","type-page","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
