BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Perform complex clinical diagnostic examinations such as bicycle stress radionuclide ventriculogram, treadmill cardiac perfusion, and pharmacologic stress cardiac perfusion, and provide expertise to support nuclear medicine clinical services.<\/p>\n

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under general direction, exercise advanced technical knowledge in a specific area of expertise such as clinical computer application or examination protocol development in the field of nuclear medicine, and provide work direction to others in area of expertise.<\/p>\n

TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n

Perform complex clinical diagnostic nuclear medicine examinations;<\/p>\n

Develop new computer applications in nuclear medicine;<\/p>\n

Develop guidelines for the use and control of radiopharmaceuticals; develop standards for calibration and dispensing of radiopharmaceuticals;<\/p>\n

Develop new nuclear medicine examinations; establish written protocols;<\/p>\n

Conduct specialized tests and studies in vitro and\/or in vivo;<\/p>\n

Identify supply needs for new procedures; locate vendors for specialized supplies;<\/p>\n

Present inservices regarding an area of nuclear medicine;<\/p>\n

Design, implement and write procedures for nuclear medicine examinations; train nuclear medicine technicians in new procedures;<\/p>\n

Perform the duties of Nuclear Medicine Technologist I;<\/p>\n

Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n

LEGAL REQUIREMENT
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Certification as a Radiologic Technologist – Nuclear Medicine in the State of Washington.<\/p>\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board or registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine AND two years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist I.<\/p>\n

Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n
