{"id":4969,"date":"2024-03-20T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-20T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=4969"},"modified":"2026-06-27T19:01:38","modified_gmt":"2026-06-28T02:01:38","slug":"nuclear-medicine-technologist-supervisor","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/nuclear-medicine-technologist-supervisor\/","title":{"rendered":"Nuclear Medicine Technologist Supervisor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>18414 (E S SEIU 925 Supv)<br \/>\n18413 (NE S SEIU 925 Supv)<br \/>\n22597 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Supv)<\/p>\n<p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Supervise nuclear medicine technologists and other assigned staff; perform and\/or develop complex clinical\/diagnostic procedures; and coordinate the operation of a nuclear medicine division in a clinical setting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With delegated authority, interview and recommend selection of applicants, train new employees, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations, and recommend disciplinary action.<\/p>\n<p>Under general direction, develop complex clinical diagnostic procedures such as iothalamate creatinine clearance and transplant right and left ventricular ejection fraction; assist with budget planning; and coordinate staff education activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Coordinate the operation of a nuclear medicine division in a clinical setting;<\/p>\n<p>Develop in vitro laboratory procedures and ensure conformance to established radiation safety standards;<\/p>\n<p>Develop training programs for fellows, residents, technologists and students; demonstrate specific techniques and equipment;<\/p>\n<p>Maintain quality control of division services and equipment;<\/p>\n<p>Approve requests for supplies; test and recommend new products; recommend purchase or lease of equipment; maintain inventory control of equipment and supplies;<\/p>\n<p>Coordinate maintenance of equipment; evaluate equipment for effectiveness;<\/p>\n<p>Perform the duties of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Lead;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LEGAL REQUIREMENT<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Certification as a Radiologic Technologist &#8211; Nuclear Medicine in the State of Washington.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board or registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine<\/p>\n<p>AND<\/p>\n<p>Two (2) years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist Lead.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>11\/18\/1985: New class<br \/>\n07\/02\/1990: Revise class.
