{"id":4957,"date":"2024-03-20T11:47:19","date_gmt":"2024-03-20T18:47:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=4957"},"modified":"2025-05-22T14:01:05","modified_gmt":"2025-05-22T21:01:05","slug":"occupational-therapist-assistant-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/classified-staff\/occupational-therapist-assistant-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Occupational Therapist Assistant 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>18139 (NE S SEIU 925 HCP\/LT)<br \/>\n22522 (NE H NI SEIU 925 HCP\/LT)<\/p>\n<p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Provide occupational therapy services under the direction of an occupational therapist to assigned patients with complex diagnoses such as spinal cord injury, closed head injury, acute psychotic episodes, and\/or multiple trauma; assist occupational therapist with evaluations and treatment planning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under general supervision, provide occupational therapy treatment to patients with complex problems in the areas of daily living, sensory motor, cognitive and psychosocial skills; instruct and evaluate students and volunteers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Perform treatment for patients with complex problems and encourage patients&#8217; independence in activities of daily living.<\/p>\n<p>Fabricate and adapt complex orthotic assistive equipment as directed;<\/p>\n<p>Provide required occupational therapy service in clinics and speciality units;<\/p>\n<p>Assist in evaluation and assessment of patient&#8217;s potential to return to independent living by conducting visits to home and work site with an occupational therapist;<\/p>\n<p>Inventory and order supplies;<\/p>\n<p>Orient and instruct new occupational therapy assistants, students, student helpers, and volunteers; assign work to volunteers;<\/p>\n<p>Participate in clinical program development and quality assurance projects;<\/p>\n<p>Participate in clinical education meetings with schools providing occupational therapy curricula;<\/p>\n<p>Perform the duties of Occupational Therapy Assistant I;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Graduate of an approved educational program for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants AND successful completion of the American Occupational Therapy Association&#8217;s Occupational Therapy Assistant certification examination AND current Washington State license, or license eligible to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant AND 18 months experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant I or equivalent.<\/p>\n<p>Physical ability to move patients and equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>02\/22\/1988: New Class<br \/>\n07\/02\/1990: Revise MQ<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 18139 (NE S SEIU 925 HCP\/LT) 22522 (NE H NI SEIU 925 HCP\/LT) BASIC FUNCTION Provide occupational therapy services under the direction of an occupational [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":96,"featured_media":0,"parent":12,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"no","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-4957","page","type-page","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
