BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lead Pharmacy Technicians and others; perform a variety of technical and specialized pharmaceutical tasks in a pharmacy; assist with the development and implementation of procedures.<\/p>\n

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under general supervision and control of a licensed pharmacist, regularly assign, instruct and check the work of others.<\/p>\n

TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n

Direct the work of interns, students, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy assistants;<\/p>\n

Assist in coordinating and conducting the instruction and training on technical, specialized and distributive functions;<\/p>\n

Participate in the development and implementation of procedures;<\/p>\n

Assist in maintaining accurate time and attendance records;<\/p>\n

Schedule pharmacy technician and pharmacy assistant staff;<\/p>\n

Perform documentation functions, including billing, in designated areas of the pharmacy;<\/p>\n

Monitor and perform in-house manufacturing of pharmaceuticals;<\/p>\n

Perform order entry of medication orders into the pharmacy computer;<\/p>\n

Assist with periodic peer review and evaluation of pharmacy assistants and interns;<\/p>\n

Participate in process improvement program development, implementation, evaluation and monitoring;<\/p>\n

Perform the duties of a Pharmacy Technician II;<\/p>\n

Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

One year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician II.<\/p>\n

Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n

LEGAL REQUIREMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification.<\/p>\n
