collect blood specimens and perform simple laboratory procedures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under general supervision, regularly assign, instruct and check the work of others.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Check and record the work of phlebotomists performing human venipuncture;<\/p>\n<p>Assure blood drawing procedures are followed and orders are completed as requested;<\/p>\n<p>Assist in training new employees; assign work;<\/p>\n<p>Maintain inventory and order supplies;<\/p>\n<p>Maintain recordkeeping and data collection;<\/p>\n<p>Perform the work of a Phlebotomist; and<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>High school graduation AND one year of experience as a phlebotomist<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LEGAL REQUIREMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy Certification (MA-P) with the Washington State Department of Health, OR obtain the MA-P within 60 days of start date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>02\/07\/1992: New Class<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<br \/>\n03\/01\/2022: Revise Legal Requirement: 3-1-22<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 18395 (NE S SEIU 925 HCP\/LT) 22590 (NE H NI SEIU 925 HCP\/LT) BASIC FUNCTION Lead assigned staff;
