Provide work direction to polysomnographic technicians and support staff.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Program montages on sleep acquisition systems; troubleshoot acquisition and scoring program issues;<\/p>\n<p>Address environmental, equipment and engineering issues that affect patient care delivery; determine appropriate course of action including test cancellations and initiating system changes with manufacturer;<\/p>\n<p>Provide oversight for sleep testing procedures provided in the home environment;<\/p>\n<p>Assist with monitoring quality of the Sleep Center through appropriate audit systems in coordination with and as directed by management; collaborate with management to ensure operational needs are met;<\/p>\n<p>Conduct and score all types of sleep studies including overnight polysomnography (multiple montages), MSLT, MWT, CPAP and Bi-level PAP titration, supplemental O2 titration, pH monitoring, and portable sleep studies;<\/p>\n<p>Provide direction to staff; provide orientation and training to new employees to ensure competency as directed by management; provide on-site education of staff to meet current standards and practice guidelines as directed by management; adjust work schedules according to patient volumes;<\/p>\n<p>May collaborate with management on special projects;<\/p>\n<p>Perform the work of Polysomnographic Technician II;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LEGAL REQUIREMENT(S)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There may be instances where individual positions must have additional licenses or certification. It is the employer\u2019s responsibility to ensure the appropriate licenses\/certifications are obtained for each position.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Graduate of an AMA-approved school of respiratory care, electroencephalogram diagnostics or polysomnography<\/p>\n<p>AND<\/p>\n<p>Three years of experience conducting sleep studies in a patient care setting including one year scoring sleep studies<\/p>\n<p>AND<\/p>\n<p>Certified in CPR AND registered with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>07\/16\/2017: New classification in SEIU Local 925.
