BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Assist as a team member in the daily routines, activities, and responsibilities of the classroom in the UWMC- Northwest Childcare Center.<\/p>\n

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under general supervision, assist the Childcare Teacher in the operation of the classroom including performing direct childcare and supporting departmental operations.<\/p>\n

TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n

Attend to the daily needs of the children such as meal preparation, feeding and clean up and diaper changing and toilet training;<\/p>\n

Provide teaching assistance in a classroom environment;
\nOrganize and clean the classroom daily, including loading and operating the washing machine and dishwasher;<\/p>\n

Assist with maintaining daily written progress records on individual children including documenting attendance, eating, sleeping, accidents, and individual medication records;<\/p>\n

Assist Child Care Teacher with curriculum planning;<\/p>\n

Attend all required trainings including State Training and Registry System (STARS) classes;
\nPerform other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

High school diploma or GED certificate.<\/p>\n

Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n
