BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Responsible for the operation of the classroom in the UWMC-Northwest Childcare Center.<\/p>\n

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under general direction, responsible for the overall curriculum, planning and operation of the classroom. Oversee the work of staff and volunteers in the classroom.<\/p>\n

TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n

Create and implement classroom curriculum as it pertains to the UWMC-Northwest Childcare Center philosophy.<\/p>\n

Oversee staff and volunteers working directly with the children;<\/p>\n

Oversee classroom arrangement, organization, storage, maintenance, and clean up.<\/p>\n

Attend to the daily needs of the children such as meal preparation, feeding and clean up and<\/p>\n

diaper changing and toilet training;<\/p>\n

Implement individual behavioral plans;<\/p>\n

Observe and document children\u2019s learning;<\/p>\n

Maintain daily written records on individual children including documenting attendance, eating, sleeping, accidents, and individual medication records;<\/p>\n

Communicate clearly and effectively with parents about their children\u2019s daily development and provide observations, documentation and assessments to parents;<\/p>\n

Attend all required trainings including State Training and Registry System (STARS) classes;
\nPerform other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Associate Degree or equivalent in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Associate<\/p>\n

OR<\/p>\n

Bachelor\u2019s Degree in related field.<\/p>\n

Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n
