{"id":4442,"date":"2024-01-24T12:11:44","date_gmt":"2024-01-24T20:11:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=4442"},"modified":"2025-05-23T10:45:21","modified_gmt":"2025-05-23T17:45:21","slug":"sprinkler-maintenance-worker","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/classified-staff\/sprinkler-maintenance-worker\/","title":{"rendered":"Sprinkler Maintenance Worker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>18550 (NE S WFSE Campuswide)<br \/>\n22676 (NE H NI WFSE Campuswide)<\/p>\n<p><strong>DEFINITION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Perform duties involving sprinkler irrigation and maintenance in a comprehensive grounds maintenance program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Incumbents are responsible for specialized grounds maintenance involving electrical and mechanical activated sprinkler systems and equipment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Install, maintain, repair and adjust various sprinkler systems and control devices;<\/p>\n<p>Inspect sprinkler systems for leaks and proper operation;<\/p>\n<p>Repair valves, vacuum breakers, time clocks, and broken water lines;<\/p>\n<p>Review and maintain sprinkler system maps;<\/p>\n<p>Order parts, materials, and supplies; maintain inventory records;<\/p>\n<p>Occasionally perform duties of a Gardener II;<\/p>\n<p>May lead other employees and part-time helpers;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Two years&#8217; experience in grounds maintenance which has included electrical and mechanical system repair.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>05\/17\/1973: New Class<br \/>\n07\/02\/1990: Revise MQ<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 18550 (NE S WFSE Campuswide) 22676 (NE H NI WFSE Campuswide) DEFINITION Perform duties involving sprinkler irrigation and maintenance in a comprehensive grounds maintenance program.
