CLASS SERIES CONCEPT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Receive, issue and maintain an inventory of materials as part of a centralized or organization stockroom function. Operating forklifts and other similar heavy duty material-handling machines is not a typical duty.<\/p>\n

BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Receive and dispense stockroom supplies and equipment using a manual or automated inventory system.<\/p>\n

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n

“I” level: Under direct supervision, perform routine stockroom duties. Completed work is reviewed for accuracy, adequacy and adherence to instructions and established procedures.<\/p>\n

“II” level: Under general supervision, perform routine stockroom duties.<\/p>\n

TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n

Receive ordered materials from central supply; check purchase receipts and invoices; return damaged goods; stock shelves;<\/p>\n

Issue materials, supplies, and equipment; receive cash, requisition, or laboratory ticket to conclude transaction; advise students and staff on questions regarding inventory in stock;<\/p>\n

Maintain compliance with state and institution policies regarding receipt, issuance and inventory of supplies, materials and equipment; assist in maintenance of equipment records; notify superior when necessary to reorder inventory;<\/p>\n

Maintain inventory and ordering records and\/or cost records and periodically take physical inventories;<\/p>\n

Rearrange stock to accommodate inventory movement; use hand dollies and pallet jacks to move stock and equipment;<\/p>\n

Clean and make repairs on equipment;<\/p>\n

May place price on stock items;<\/p>\n

May maintain stockroom and perform custodial duties in stockroom areas;<\/p>\n

May mix flammable, toxic, corrosive and\/or explosive chemicals and handle laboratory equipment under technical direction.<\/p>\n

May dispose of surplus materials;<\/p>\n

Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stockroom Attendant I: High school graduation or equivalent. Six months of applicable experience may be substituted for education requirements.<\/p>\n

Stockroom Attendant II: Six months of full-time experience as a Stockroom Attendant I.<\/p>\n

Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n
