Perform assessments; plan and implement recreational therapy program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under general supervision, assess patient needs, plan and implement therapeutic recreation programs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Assess patients; plan and implement therapeutic recreation plan of care to meet individual patient needs;<\/p>\n<p>Organize and lead therapeutic recreational activities both in and outside the hospital environment;<\/p>\n<p>Confer with the interdisciplinary team, individual patients, and family members to develop patients&#8217; therapeutic recreational plan;<\/p>\n<p>Develop and maintain contact with appropriate community resources;<\/p>\n<p>Maintain statistical information and documentation related to patient care;<\/p>\n<p>Operate state motor vehicles to transport patients on community outings;<\/p>\n<p>Direct therapeutic recreation volunteers and instruct students within assigned area;<\/p>\n<p>Assist in securing resources and equipment for assigned area;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Graduation from an accredited Therapeutic Recreation Program.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>09\/16\/1976: New Class<br \/>\n07\/02\/1990: Revise MQ<br \/>\n02\/15\/1991: Revise Class\/Title<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 18135 (NE S SEIU 925 HCP\/LT) 22520 (NE H NI SEIU 925 HCP\/LT) CLASS SERIES CONCEPT Assess, plan and implement therapeutic recreation services.
