This is a fully competent working level operator.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Assist producers\/directors and technicians in all phases of work involving studio production of television and film programs and materials; work independently with faculty person to meet established objectives for live or video-recorded materials;<\/p>\n<p>Set up audio and video recording equipment, microphones, lighting, and staging equipment; perform minor construction and rigging jobs necessary to such setups; operate cameras, monitors, recording equipment; participate in staging and rehearsal of scripts and productions; operate special effects switcher, video-font or film camera;<\/p>\n<p>Check equipment and material prior to program or recording to assure correct and timely presentations; make on-the-spot changes and routine repairs to assure continuous operation;<\/p>\n<p>Perform general simple maintenance to assigned equipment such as cleaning heads of video equipment, fine tuning television sets and keeping television screens clean; run frequency checks; recording levels and bias levels as part of the general maintenance program; perform backup maintenance for media equipment maintenance technicians or broadcast technicians;<\/p>\n<p>Monitor classroom videotaping and playbacks; record and track classroom assignments;<\/p>\n<p>Playback prepared video-tape lectures; store and maintain video-tape machines and monitors, and reproducing equipment; edit video-tapes;<\/p>\n<p>Schedule equipment usage; coordinate program usage;<\/p>\n<p>May act as floor director in TV\/video recording sessions, live presentations, and filming sessions;<\/p>\n<p>May maintain inventory of available equipment;<\/p>\n<p>May examine new TV\/video materials to determine their technical specifications for cataloging operations; prepare materials for circulation;<\/p>\n<p>May provide initial training and supplementary refresher instruction to other operators, staff, instructors and students;<\/p>\n<p>May travel to the field in TV\/video production work;<\/p>\n<p>May direct the work of student employees;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>High School graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in electronics, television operations, or production, including one year as a TV\/Video Equipment Operator I, or equivalent.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>03\/07\/1973: New Class<br \/>\n10\/10\/1974: Revise Class<br \/>\n12\/18\/1974: Revise Code (3562) &amp; Title<br \/>\n07\/18\/1975: Revise Code (3546), Title &amp; Class<br \/>\n04\/15\/1991: Revise Class\/Title<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 17546 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv) 22347 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv) BASIC FUNCTION Set up and operate TV\/video systems and equipment.
