{"id":4364,"date":"2024-01-17T11:06:54","date_gmt":"2024-01-17T19:06:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=4364"},"modified":"2025-05-23T14:22:48","modified_gmt":"2025-05-23T21:22:48","slug":"tv-video-equipment-operator-lead","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/classified-staff\/tv-video-equipment-operator-lead\/","title":{"rendered":"TV\/Video Equipment Operator Lead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>17547 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv)<br \/>\n22348 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv)<\/p>\n<p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lead others and coordinate the operation, scheduling of and\/or routine maintenance of TV\/video equipment, materials, and facilities, and\/or the production of TV\/video materials\/programs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under general supervision, regularly assign, instruct and check the work of others; Positions in perform a variety of activities in TV\/video services including the preparation of graphics, props, and staging for TV\/video productions, classroom operations, studio technical production activities and\/or routine maintenance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lead the work of others; coordinate taping of video-tape productions; set up and perform TV\/video playbacks, recordings, dubbing, editing, and associated tasks; coordinate the development of scheduling and delivery systems for TV\/video equipment and materials;<\/p>\n<p>Train faculty, staff, and students in academic departments on operation of TV\/video cameras, video-tape recorders, and audio equipment; advise on lighting requirements and simple production and techniques;<\/p>\n<p>Instruct and direct technicians in the operation and routine maintenance of equipment, lighting, and staging and aid in scheduling crew members; perform minor construction and rigging jobs necessary to production set ups; participate in staffing and rehearsal of scripts and productions;<\/p>\n<p>Operate TV\/video studio and control room equipment and common specialized test equipment such as oscilloscopes and vectorscopes necessary to ensure adequate operation; coordinate preventative maintenance of TV\/video equipment and systems;<\/p>\n<p>May act as floor director in TV\/video recording sessions, live presentations, and filming sessions;<\/p>\n<p>May travel to the field as part of a team to make or present productions;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>High School graduation or equivalent AND three years of experience in electronics, TV\/video operations, or production, including one year as a TV\/Video Equipment Operator II, or equivalent.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>01\/03\/1973: New Class<br \/>\n10\/10\/1974: Revise Class<br \/>\n12\/18\/1974: Revise Code (3565) &amp; Title<br \/>\n07\/18\/1975: Revise Code (3547), Title &amp; Class<br \/>\n04\/15\/1991: Revise Class\/Title<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 17547 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv) 22348 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv) BASIC FUNCTION Lead others and coordinate the operation, scheduling of [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":96,"featured_media":0,"parent":12,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"no","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-4364","page","type-page","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
