{"id":4303,"date":"2024-01-08T12:38:37","date_gmt":"2024-01-08T20:38:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=4303"},"modified":"2025-05-23T14:33:08","modified_gmt":"2025-05-23T21:33:08","slug":"washroom-equipment-operator-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/classified-staff\/washroom-equipment-operator-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Washroom Equipment Operator 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>18514 (NE S WFSE Campuswide)<br \/>\n22647 (NE H NI WFSE Campuswide)<\/p>\n<p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lead or perform all phases of laundry washroom operations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under general supervision, lead subordinate workers; perform all institutional laundry washing tasks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Regularly assign, instruct and check the work of employees;<\/p>\n<p>Direct the receipt, marking and sorting of soiled laundry;<\/p>\n<p>Direct and perform loading, unloading and operation of large institutional washers, extractors, tumblers and other washroom equipment;<\/p>\n<p>Determine and prepare proper washing formulas and chemicals needed to process individual washer loads;<\/p>\n<p>Apply special stain removal and spotting procedures when necessary;<\/p>\n<p>Maintain sanitary washroom environment and equipment; report any mechanical problems to the Washroom Supervisor;<\/p>\n<p>Report potential or current washroom equipment malfunctions to the Laundry Production Supervisor;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One year of experience in a commercial laundry or six months of experience in a large institutional or large commercial laundry as a washroom operator.
