CLASS SERIES CONCEPT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Supervise assigned personnel performing window washing duties on the University of Washington Seattle campus.<\/p>\n

BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

With delegated authority, interview and recommend selection of applicants, conduct training, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary action.<\/p>\n

Under general direction, serve as supervisor to window washing staff. Perform window washing duties as a working supervisor. Provide estimates for recharge window washing work and communicate work schedules to building coordinators and department heads.<\/p>\n

TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n

Determine staffing needs of assigned buildings; analyze workloads and assign work to employees;<\/p>\n

Oversee safety practices;<\/p>\n

Maintain compliance with applicable policies and procedures;<\/p>\n

Prepare reports related to window washing services;<\/p>\n

Conduct safety meetings and train subordinates; enforce safety rules and regulations; investigate accidents and fill out accident reports;<\/p>\n

Ensure that all descent and safety equipment and rigging is in satisfactory condition, including making regular safety checks (with safety checklist);<\/p>\n

Ensure staff follow an appropriate pre-approved fall-protection plan; oversee development of work-safety for each work site (building and\/or wing);<\/p>\n

Wash windows and perform related duties at heights above 35 feet;<\/p>\n

Wash and clean windows (inside and outside), using ladders, bos\u2019n chairs , other power tools; construct and work with spider scaling\/swing-stage equipment, safety belts, safety ropes and harnesses, tucker and extension poles, power hoists, hydraulic (i.e., “Genie”) lifts, etc. in populated areas;<\/p>\n

Drive Genie Lift and other vehicles to various work locations with appropriate flaggers and spotters.<\/p>\n

Perform the work of a Window Washer Lead; and<\/p>\n

Perform other duties as required.<\/p>\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

One year of experience as a Window Washer Lead.<\/p>\n

Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n
