If a position was not filled through a competitive recruitment, an individual cannot be placed in the Professional Staff Program through the position review process. While the forms were designed to be completed electronically using Microsoft Word and have fields that can expand to accommodate the information entered, they can be completed manually. How do I fill in \u201cProposed Job Profile\u201d and \u201cFT Monthly Salary\u201d fields?<i class=\"fa panel-title-icon\"><\/i><\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"collapseNine\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse\">\n<p>If you are unsure of what to propose for job profile, job code, or monthly salary to propose, enter the phrase \u201cPLEASE CALL TO DISCUSS\u201d and a Compensation staff member will contact you to discuss these issues.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"panel panel-default\">\n<div id=\"headingTen\" class=\"panel-heading\">\n<h5 class=\"panel-title\"><a class=\"collapsed panel-link\" href=\"#collapseTen\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordionTwo\">Professional Staff Compensation Change Request Form &#8211; \u201c% Pay Increase\u201d: Why does it say \u201c! ZERO DIVIDE\u201d?<i class=\"fa panel-title-icon\"><\/i><\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"collapseTen\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse\">\n<p>The form generates this error message when a calculation results in a \u201cdivision by zero\u201d (which is not allowed mathematically). This is typically caused by leaving one of the salary fields blank. Complete only the title change sections of the Compensation Change Request form and note the reason for the change in the form\u2019s justification section. You can use this process to request that a position that is now overtime eligible, but was previously overtime exempt, be reassigned to an overtime exempt job code. Individual organizations may have policies specific to this question. The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/professional-staff\/payroll-titles-and-descriptors\/\">Professional Staff Job Profiles web page<\/a>\u00a0provides a list of professional staff job profiles listed by exemption group. If you do not find a specific title that you feel is appropriate, select one of the general titles.
