Allocate program or subject area library resources, establish policies, methods and procedures, and ensure compliance with institutional and library policies and regulations. Serve as the subject matter expert for program-specific related questions or requests.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Supervision exercised typically includes all types of supervision exercised at grade 8, plus supervision of supervisory contract classified staff or Professional Libraries Employees in a lower grade. A larger number of direct and indirect reports is more common at this grade.<\/p>\n<p>Positions performing the work of this job profile that supervise at least 1.0 FTE regular, non-temporary PLE positions must be placed in the appropriate supervisory bargaining unit job code.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Develop and maintain oversight for large-scale program or events and services, which include implementing strategic short- and long-term goals, initiatives, projects, and program plans;<\/p>\n<p>Perform analysis using specialized knowledge of program area to deliver continuous process improvement;<\/p>\n<p>Develop and implement program policies and procedures; maintain oversight and ensure compliance;<\/p>\n<p>Prepare and manage complex affiliated budgets and ensure compliance with University policies and procedures;<\/p>\n<p>Initiate, create, and assess vendor contracts;<\/p>\n<p>Serve as the subject matter expert for program-specific related questions or requests;<\/p>\n<p>Create and deliver marketing and communications relative to program initiatives and events;<\/p>\n<p>Create and deliver contracts and requisitions on behalf of units, following all required policies and procedures;<\/p>\n<p>May supervise or provide work direction to other staff;<\/p>\n<p>May perform the work of a Libraries Program Operations Specialist 8; and<\/p>\n<p>Perform other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree in relevant field and 4-5 years of work experience.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CIVIL SERVICE EXEMPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Program Direction\/Control.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New to SEIU 925 02-01-2022 per PERC Case No. 133181-E-20.<\/li>\n<li>Prior to 02-01-23 this work in UW Libraries was in professional staff job code 11542, Program Operations Specialist (E S 9);
