CLASS SERIES CONCEPT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Within the UW Libraries, provide professional level programmatic direction and control in support of specific libraries programs.<\/p>\n

BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Direct or control programs or events for UW Libraries.<\/p>\n

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under general direction, utilize specialized knowledge to make decisions and exercise independent judgment for a specific program, such as but not limited to accessibility, non-cash gifts, purchasing, grants, or online learning support. Allocate program or subject area library resources, establish policies, methods and procedures, and ensure compliance with institutional and library policies and regulations.<\/p>\n

Supervisory Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

Supervision exercised typically includes all types of supervision exercised at grade 7, plus may also supervise Professional Libraries Employees in a lower grade.<\/p>\n

Positions performing the work of this job profile that supervise at least 1.0 FTE regular, non-temporary PLE positions must be placed in the appropriate supervisory bargaining unit job code.<\/p>\n

TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n

Develop and maintain oversight for specific medium-scale program events and services, which may include implementing strategic short- and long-term goals, initiatives, projects, and program plans;<\/p>\n

Perform analysis using specialized knowledge of program area to deliver continuous process improvement;<\/p>\n

Establish and implement program policies and procedures; maintain oversight and ensure compliance;<\/p>\n

Manage affiliated budgets and ensure compliance with University policies and procedures;<\/p>\n

Serve as the consultant for program-specific related questions or requests;<\/p>\n

Create and deliver marketing and communications relative to program initiatives and events<\/p>\n

Create and deliver contracts and requisitions on behalf of units, following all required policies and procedures;<\/p>\n

May perform the work of a Libraries Program Operations Specialist 7;<\/p>\n

May supervise other staff such as student hourlies; and<\/p>\n

Perform other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bachelor\u2019s degree in relevant field and 3-4 years of work experience.<\/p>\n

Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n
