{"id":3897,"date":"2023-10-23T11:00:17","date_gmt":"2023-10-23T18:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=3897"},"modified":"2025-05-23T14:26:22","modified_gmt":"2025-05-23T21:26:22","slug":"utility-worker-supervisor","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/classified-staff\/utility-worker-supervisor\/","title":{"rendered":"Utility Worker Supervisor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>17207 (NE S SEIU 925 Supv)<br \/>\n22253 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Supv)<\/p>\n<p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Supervise personnel in the maintenance and repair of building, grounds and utility systems and in the installation of utility systems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With delegated authority, interview and recommend selection of applicants, conduct training, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary action.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Plan and prioritize work projects; develop work schedules;<\/p>\n<p>Read plans and blueprints to determine scope of work and materials needed; make cost estimates; submit project proposals;<\/p>\n<p>Review completed projects for satisfactory compliance with design and instruction;<\/p>\n<p>Enforce safety rules and regulations;<\/p>\n<p>Maintain records of work performed; order supplies, equipment and tools required for projects;<\/p>\n<p>Direct maintenance and repair of equipment;<\/p>\n<p>May coordinate the work of Heavy Equipment Operators and other skilled trades personnel who may be assigned to a particular project;<\/p>\n<p>May supervise set up for athletic events and assure site is returned to original condition;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Three years of work experience which includes operation of power equipment such as tampers, jackhammers, trucks, and wheel tractors AND one year of experience as a lead.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>02\/19\/1981: New Class<br \/>\n08\/04\/1989: Revise Class<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<br \/>\n05\/01\/2007: New to SEIU<br \/>\n09\/08\/2023: Revise MQs<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 17207 (NE S SEIU 925 Supv) 22253 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Supv) BASIC FUNCTION Supervise personnel in the maintenance and repair of building, grounds [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":49,"featured_media":0,"parent":12,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"no","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-3897","page","type-page","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
