CLASS SERIES CONCEPT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Prepare and serve food and beverages and clean work area.<\/p>\n

BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Perform advanced Food Service Worker duties such as leading Food Service Workers, independently operating a remote food service area, or functioning as a short order\/grill cook.<\/p>\n

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Employees in this classification perform one or more of the following advanced Food Service Worker duties:<\/p>\n

Regularly assign, instruct and check the work of others<\/p>\n

Independently operate a food service area separate from centralized dining areas.<\/p>\n

Function as assistant to full-time cooks.<\/p>\n

TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lead employees in food preparation, serving and\/or dishwashing;<\/p>\n

Lead or independently operate a remote food service area such as a snack bar or espresso stand;<\/p>\n

Function as a short order\/grill cook;<\/p>\n

Weigh, prepare, and serve meals to meet special diet requirements;<\/p>\n

May check food on each patient’s tray against diet menu on tray and ask tray line employees to make correction;<\/p>\n

Participate in cleaning work area and equipment;<\/p>\n

Complete forms including par order forms, waste sheets, temperature logs, and\/or production logs;<\/p>\n

May process payments including cash and credit\/debit card transactions;<\/p>\n

May assist in orienting and training new staff;<\/p>\n

Perform duties of a Food Service Worker 1; and<\/p>\n

Perform other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment AND one year of experience preparing and serving food and beverage.<\/p>\n

Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n
