{"id":3830,"date":"2023-10-20T14:32:56","date_gmt":"2023-10-20T21:32:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=3830"},"modified":"2025-05-09T10:46:58","modified_gmt":"2025-05-09T17:46:58","slug":"fiscal-technician-supervisor","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/classified-staff\/fiscal-technician-supervisor\/","title":{"rendered":"Fiscal Technician Supervisor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>17053 (NE S SEIU 925 Supv)<br \/>\n22225 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Supv)<\/p>\n<p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Supervise technical\/clerical support staff in assigned fiscal activities including planning, coordinating and determining of methods and procedures to be utilized in the maintenance of controls, records and reports.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With delegated authority, interview and recommend selection of applicants, conduct training, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary action. Supervise technical\/clerical support staff in accounting, budgeting, cashiering, payroll, and purchasing. This class is distinguished from the Accounting Supervisor by the absence of a requirement to perform complex accounting\/fiscal duties normally required of a professional accountant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interpret fiscal policy; coordinate fiscal operations with data processing personnel as required; review and verify work of Fiscal Technicians for procedural compliance and accuracy; investigate discrepancies; correct errors;<\/p>\n<p>Coordinate computer input processed either by batch control or on-line computer terminals; maintain integrity of computer systems or sub-systems; authorize corrections; distribute computer output after verification and correction;<\/p>\n<p>Maintain records, authorize changes; compile periodic reports for special funds or grants, student aid programs, payroll, purchases, accounts payable and accounts receivable, cashiering, or other specialized fiscal activities; assist in preparation of periodic fiscal reports, report and record reconciliations and statements;<\/p>\n<p>Perform the duties of Fiscal Technicians;<\/p>\n<p>Supervise staff in a specialized unit such as payroll, cashiering or collection of outstanding accounts as part of the total fiscal unit or operation;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Associate\u2019s Degree; AND 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, some of which includes lead or supervisory responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>05\/17\/1973: New Class<br \/>\n05\/01\/1982:\u00a0Revise Class<br \/>\n01\/18\/1988:\u00a0Revise Class\/Title<br \/>\n07\/02\/1990:\u00a0Revise MQ<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005:\u00a0CSR Class Conversion<br \/>\n09\/08\/2023:\u00a0Revised MQ<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 17053 (NE S SEIU 925 Supv) 22225 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Supv) BASIC FUNCTION Supervise technical\/clerical support staff in assigned fiscal activities including planning, [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":49,"featured_media":0,"parent":12,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"no","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-3830","page","type-page","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
