The UW calls positions that are covered by FLSA overtime regulations \u201covertime eligible.\u201d<\/p><\/div><div class=\"uwhr-child-page\"><h4 class=\"h6 m-b-0 m-t-0\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/overtime-for-staff\/partial-day-absence\/\">Partial-day absences<i class=\"fa fa-angle-right m-l-xs\"><\/i><\/a><\/h4><p>Read about the required use of paid leave for partial-day absences by professional staff employees.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"uwhr-child-page\"><h4 class=\"h6 m-b-0 m-t-0\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/overtime-for-staff\/flsa-wmwa-overtime-eligibility-and-exemption\/\">FLSA and WMWA overtime eligibility and exemption<i class=\"fa fa-angle-right m-l-xs\"><\/i><\/a><\/h4><p>All hourly paid temporary and student workers are, by definition, overtime eligible. Only positions that meet certain narrowly defined criteria are exempt from the FLSA\u2019s overtime requirements. <\/p><\/div><div class=\"uwhr-child-page\"><h4 class=\"h6 m-b-0 m-t-0\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/overtime-for-staff\/minimum-wage-act-impact-to-uw-faqs\/\">WA Minimum Wage Act impact to UW (FAQs)<i class=\"fa fa-angle-right m-l-xs\"><\/i><\/a><\/h4><p>The overtime threshold under the WMWA increases annually every January 1.
