CLASS SERIES CONCEPT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Within Continuum College, responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of web-based applications and services. Focus on delivering scalable, secure, and user-centered digital solutions that support organizational operations, academic programs, and administrative services.<\/p>\n

BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Design and develop functional, maintainable web applications by collaborating with stakeholders, writing code, and managing both front-end and back-end components. Oversee performance monitoring, quality assurance, and deployment while contributing to documentation, coding standards, and mentoring within cross-functional teams.<\/p>\n

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under limited supervision, independently provide full-stack web development, application architecture, and user interface design. Deliver robust, maintainable, and user-friendly web solutions, both independently and in a team dynamic. Provide hands-on development and technical implementation.<\/p>\n

TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n

Engage with stakeholders and end-users to gather and clarify application requirements. Translate business needs into technical specifications that guide development.<\/p>\n

Lead initial project analysis and planning, including feasibility studies and documenting end-user requirements.<\/p>\n

Determine the scope and duration of projects and coordinate technical requirements with team members.<\/p>\n

Implement well-designed custom database structures as required.<\/p>\n

Assist in the development of data validation queries and system monitoring scripts.<\/p>\n

Adhere and contribute to system configuration and deployment practices and standards.<\/p>\n

Develop and document technical specifications.<\/p>\n

Exercise and adhere to team coding standards and development\/validation practices to ensure high-quality, maintainable technical deliverables.<\/p>\n

Perform rigorous quality assurance testing through all phases of software development to ensure delivery of high-quality products.<\/p>\n

Provide ongoing systems and user support.<\/p>\n

Investigate and handle complaints related to application performance.<\/p>\n

Initiate prompt corrective action to identify and resolve production issues.<\/p>\n

Serve as back up for other team members and provide support as projects require additional development resources.<\/p>\n

May mentor other staff or participate in cross-functional project teams.<\/p>\n

Perform other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bachelor\u2019s degree in a related field and four years of relevant experience.<\/p>\n

Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration<\/p>\n

CIVIL SERVICE EXEMPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Senior Computer Systems and Network Programming: Individuals having demonstrated professional competence in computer systems and network programming above the journey-level, who independently perform work assignments, and devise methods and processes to meet new and unique work requirements and problems. Employees having substantial responsibility in at least one of the following areas: Applying systems analysis techniques and procedures including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications; designing, developing, documenting, analyzing, creating, testing, or modifying computer systems or programs, including prototypes based on and related to user or system design specifications; designing, documenting, testing, creating, or modifying computer programs related to machine operating systems; or a combination of these duties, the performance of which requires the same level of skills.<\/p>\n
