{"id":12605,"date":"2026-08-04T09:55:49","date_gmt":"2026-08-04T16:55:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=12605"},"modified":"2026-08-04T09:55:49","modified_gmt":"2026-08-04T16:55:49","slug":"video-production-specialist-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/represented-civil-service-exempt-staff\/video-production-specialist-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Video Production Specialist 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>25651 (NE S SEIU CC)<br \/>\n25650 (E S SEIU CC)<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASS SERIES CONCEPT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Produce video and media content for Continuum College through creative and technical production processes in collaboration with stakeholders and project teams.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Provide oversight and expertise in end\u2011to\u2011end media production by directing the creation of video and multimedia content for online education and marketing, fostering collaboration among teams, staff, and stakeholders, and managing all aspects of video production and cross\u2011functional project execution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under limited supervision, lead media production and produce high\u2011quality, accessible deliverables across projects and platforms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Demonstrate broad expertise in pre\u2011production planning, studio and on\u2011location video capture, and post\u2011production workflows.<\/p>\n<p>Respond to media service requests, implement revisions, and maintain long\u2011term media assets for programs and partners.<\/p>\n<p>Lead the development of storyboards and collaborate with stakeholders on creative concepts and marketing objectives. Serve as lead creative and technical support for faculty and staff, providing training on new media recording practices and tools.<\/p>\n<p>Produce motion graphics, titles, animations and edit photography for use in marketing, storytelling, and course materials.<\/p>\n<p>Ensure project deliverables are properly uploaded, organized, and managed on digital media platforms for partner access.<\/p>\n<p>Apply Universal Design for Learning principles and accessibility standards across all media development.<\/p>\n<p>Script video content using interviews, transcripts, and collaboration with staff and stakeholders. Participate in planning meetings and needs assessments to recommend appropriate media services and project scope.<\/p>\n<p>Provide regular updates to senior management on team capacity, service availability, and alignment with project schedules.<\/p>\n<p>Review incoming media production requests, assess service needs, and communicate next steps to the team. Develop and maintain communication protocols, templates, tracking reports, and project notifications.<\/p>\n<p>Prepare and lead information sessions for program managers, technologists, and project teams on media workflows and tools.<\/p>\n<p>Edit multi\u2011camera footage, optimize audio, perform color correction, and assemble polished narratives.<\/p>\n<p>Consult with advisory boards, industry forums, and internal\/external partners on emerging media technologies and workflows.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinate team project workflows and communicate status updates and deliverables from pre\u2011production through post.<\/p>\n<p>Support departmental goals by leading progress meetings, ensuring access to essential tools, and serving as liaison to facilities and IT.<\/p>\n<p>Initiate and contribute to improvement initiatives that enhance media services and workflows.<\/p>\n<p>Participate in task forces and committees at the college and university level.<\/p>\n<p>Monitor studio spaces and equipment to ensure functionality, efficiency, and accessibility for the media team.<\/p>\n<p>Conduct annual equipment inventory, assess resource needs, and prepare purchase proposals and budget forecasts.<\/p>\n<p>May supervise students, staff and others.<\/p>\n<p>Perform other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree in a related field and three years of relevant experience.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CIVIL SERVICE EXEMPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Graphic Arts and Publications: Individuals having prescribed academic preparation or special training in the fields of graphic arts, printing and publications, and who are assigned to a major academic or administrative unit and who are responsible for the development and design of scholarly or related publications, or the full range of printing and publication activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>05\/01\/2026: New class per PERC Case No. 139167-E-24<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 25651 (NE S SEIU CC) 25650 (E S SEIU CC) CLASS SERIES CONCEPT Produce video and media content for Continuum College through creative and technical production processes in collaboration with stakeholders and project teams.
