May also oversee administrative, operational and\/or educational components of online, extension, continuing education, or fee-based programs.<\/p>\n<p>If the primary focus is to coordinate continuing education programs, focusing on the operational aspects, then a Continuing Education Coordinator job profile may be more appropriate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Responsible for the strategic design, implementation, and evaluation of a diverse portfolio of non-credit educational programs, ensuring financial sustainability, instructional quality, and alignment with institutional goals. Develop stakeholder relationships, support student engagement, and contribute to organizational initiatives through leadership, innovation, and inclusive practices.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under limited supervision, independently stage, maintain, and provide quality assurance for education courses in a variety of modalities across the Continuum College portfolio. Assist in the development of new courses and training materials in partnership with instructors and learning designers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Design, implement, and evaluate a diverse portfolio of non-credit educational programs across multiple formats, such as classroom, online, or hybrid.<\/p>\n<p>Conduct strategic planning and continuous improvement based on market trends, stakeholder input, and performance data.<\/p>\n<p>Determine optimal program types and formats to meet learning objectives and maximize enrollment.<\/p>\n<p>Develop and manage program budgets, forecasts, and compensation structures.<\/p>\n<p>Ensure financial sustainability and alignment with Continuum College objectives.<\/p>\n<p>Develop and apply knowledge of higher education financial models and revenue streams.<\/p>\n<p>Regularly lead new programs or growth initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Oversee curriculum revisions and expansion of existing offerings to meet evolving market demands.<\/p>\n<p>Contribute innovative ideas and work with subject matter experts to support new program development.<\/p>\n<p>Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate instructors and instructional staff.<\/p>\n<p>Provide onboarding and ongoing support in collaboration with the learning experience staff.<\/p>\n<p>Customize training materials as needed to support program-specific needs.<\/p>\n<p>Build and maintain relationships with advisory boards, subject matter experts, and professional communities.<\/p>\n<p>Collaborate cross-functionally to support program logistics, promotion, and student experience enhancements.<\/p>\n<p>Apply best practices in adult education, curriculum design, and learning technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Maintain subject matter expertise and stay current with trends in professional and continuing education.<\/p>\n<p>Address student and instructor concerns, escalating when necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Lead information sessions and manage escalated student inquiries.<\/p>\n<p>Participate in committees or workgroups to enhance processes and programming.<\/p>\n<p>Actively support diversity, equity, and inclusion by promoting representation, sharing resources, and applying inclusive practices.<\/p>\n<p>Perform other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Master\u2019s degree in a related field and one year of relevant experience<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CIVIL SERVICE EXEMPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Continuing Education: Individuals that have responsibility for administrative, operational and\/or educational components of extension or continuing education activities or programs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>05\/01\/2026: New class per PERC Case No. 139167-E-24<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 25607 (NE S SEIU 925 CC) 25606 (E S SEIU 925 CC) CLASS SERIES CONCEPT Within Continuum College, oversee curriculum development and teaching of extension or continuing education training\/course materials and\/or programs.
