There are two types of temporary pay increases:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in;background: white\"><strong><span style=\"color: #3d3d3d\">Temporary Pay Increase<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #3d3d3d\"> \u2013 A professional staff employee who temporarily assumes additional responsibilities for ten or more working days may receive a temporary pay increase of at least five percent over their current salary. It is also an acceptable means for temporarily paying a professional staff employee for increased workload\/duties at the same level, provided that temporary is at least ten work day in duration. A Temporary Pay Increase (TPI) requires advance approval of the Integrated Service Center (ISC) or the Compensation office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in;background: white\"><strong><span style=\"color: #3d3d3d\">Administrative Supplement<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #3d3d3d\">\u00a0\u2013 An Administrative Supplement (ADS) is a lump sum amount added to an employee\u2019s gross monthly salary to recognize the assumption of higher-level administrative responsibilities. Only overtime exempt professional staff are eligible to receive administrative supplements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in;background: white\"><span style=\"color: #3d3d3d\">Both TPIs and ADSs for professional staff are \u201callowances\u201d in Workday. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Processing a temporary pay increase or administrative supplement request<\/h4>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in;background: white\"><span style=\"color: #3d3d3d\"> For campus positions: \u00a0Submit requests and\/or extension request through <a href=\"https:\/\/wd5.myworkday.com\/uw\/login.htmld\">Workday<\/a> following the <a href=\"https:\/\/isc.uw.edu\/user-guides\/request_comp_change_sc\/\">Request Compensation Change \u2013 Staff Campus<\/a> instructions.
