BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Within UW central receiving, receive, inspect, document, and stage goods for distribution using internal transaction processing tools.<\/p>\n

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under general supervision, coordinate and manage centralized receiving operations through internal controls, customer consultation, and tracking chain of custody from receipt through outgoing delivery.<\/p>\n

TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n

Receive all inbound campus deliveries at the designated Central Receiving facility;<\/p>\n

Inspect shipments for accuracy, completeness, and visible damage;<\/p>\n

Identify\u00a0discrepancies, damages, or missing items and\u00a0initiate\u00a0appropriate follow-up;<\/p>\n

Monitor and resolve package issues, coordinating with departments on next steps;<\/p>\n

Record receipt of goods accurately and\u00a0in a\u00a0timely\u00a0manner\u00a0to support payment release;<\/p>\n

Upload packing slips and related documentation to\u00a0support\u00a0a complete audit trail;<\/p>\n

Ensure compliance with UW financial controls and documentation standards;<\/p>\n

Prioritize deliveries based on operational needs;<\/p>\n

Utilize chain-of-custody systems to enable end-to-end visibility from receipt to outgoing delivery;<\/p>\n

Recognize and route excluded delivery types (e.g. controlled substances, live animals, time-sensitive research materials) according to established procedures;<\/p>\n

Operate university vehicles to make deliveries across campus as needed;<\/p>\n

Provide training on receiving processes;<\/p>\n

Generate and review reports on receiving, inventory, and delivery to maintain operational efficiency and resolve issues;<\/p>\n

Participate in process improvement for service improvement;<\/p>\n

Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <\/strong><\/p>\n

High school graduation or equivalent AND\u00a0<\/strong>two years experience in\u00a0receiving\u00a0logistics, warehousing, mailing\u00a0services\u00a0logistics, or supply chain operations; valid motor vehicle operator\u2019s license.<\/p>\n

Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n
