From Birds to Bees to Wild Lands: Caring for Our Planet, Close to Home – April 28, 2026 – 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM<\/h3>\n

In celebration of Earth Day, we invite you to a special Lunch & Learn highlighting local nonprofits dedicated to protecting and preserving our environment. In the spirit of this year\u2019s theme, Our Power, Our Planet, we\u2019re excited to welcome three inspiring organizations making a meaningful impact close to home:<\/p>\n

Birds Connect Seattle<\/a><\/strong> brings its mission to life through urban and regional initiatives that spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and inspire protection of birds\u2014both within our local community and beyond.<\/p>\n

Backyard Beekeepers Association<\/strong><\/a> educates the public about the many benefits of beekeeping while promoting the health of honey bees and native pollinators. Through classes, presentations, and conferences, they offer learning opportunities for everyone\u2014from curious beginners to experienced beekeepers.<\/p>\n

Washington Wild<\/strong><\/a> works to protect and restore Washington\u2019s wild lands and waters through advocacy, education, and civic engagement. Founded in 1979 as the Washington Wilderness Coalition, the organization has helped safeguard nearly 3 million acres of wilderness across the state.<\/p>\n

Active Aging: Engagement and Resources Panel – May 20, 2026 –\u00a012:00 PM – 1:00 PM<\/h3>\n

In recognition of Older Americans Month, we invite you to join us for an informative session bringing together experts from leading community and campus organizations to share valuable resources, program updates and tips for staying active and engaged in the community.<\/p>\n

Presenters include speakers from:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Osher UW Lifelong Learning Institute<\/strong> –<\/a> invites adults over the age of 50 to come together to share intellectual interests and make friends through a range of exciting programs.<\/p>\n

Solid Ground – <\/strong>Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)<\/strong> –\u00a0<\/a> RSVP is one of the largest senior volunteer networks in the nation and is open to anyone 55 or older.<\/p>\n

Sound Generations<\/strong><\/a> – partners with older adults to provide accessible and inclusive training so they can age their way.<\/p>\n

UW Retirement Association<\/strong> – <\/a>UWRA is committed to offering programs, events, and resources that are accessible to retirees of all abilities.<\/p>\n
