Vaccination requirement applies to new hires

UWHR has posted hiring manager guidance about Governor Inslee’s vaccination mandate requiring all employees of Washington higher education institutions to be fully vaccinated by October 18, 2021 as a condition of employment unless a medical or religious exemption is approved.

Please review to understand how candidates are informed about the vaccination requirement and what you should communicate to candidates. You will also find steps for hiring managers to take if a candidate does not intend to meet the vaccination requirement.

We ask that you immediately begin discussing this requirement and exemption options with candidates during the interview and job offer process to ensure all new hires are aware of the vaccination requirement and are eligible to be employed prior to their start date.
