New housing resources and information
UWHR is working with UW Community Relations on developing additional affordable housing resources for the UW community.
In addition to the UW’s longstanding relationship with the Hometown Home Loan program, employees can now find information from the Washington State Housing Finance Commission, a state agency focused on making home ownership possible for those with an annual household income of up to $145,000. Their programs include specialized home loans, down payment assistance, energy incentives and home buyer education.
For those hoping to live near work? The Priority Access Rentals & Affordable Housing Near UW web page shares housing opportunities that offer UW employees affordable housing opportunities and/or priority access and promotes the Visiting Faculty Housing Service that can help visiting faculty or newly recruited faculty and staff find rental housing.
