Thorud and DSA nominations due soon

Every day, we work and learn alongside some extraordinary colleagues. UW employees are the valuable driving force behind our continued impact on our campuses and community, working tirelessly to promote inclusivity, collaboration and excellence. Their invaluable work reaches many and deserves our recognition.

Please encourage nominations for these awards within your teams and departments:

  • The Distinguished Staff Award celebrates the outstanding work of UW staff. Classified and professional staff who hold a 50 percent or greater regular appointment and have been employed at the University for a minimum of six months as of December 1 are eligible. Up to five individuals or team nominees will be selected for a $5,000 award presented at the University’s Awards of Excellence ceremony in June. Learn more and submit nominations on the Distinguished Staff Award website by Friday, Nov. 16 at 5 p.m.

  • The Thorud Leadership Award honors the impactful leaders within the UW community and is presented to two employees each year. These can include faculty, other academic appointees and staff. Senior administration at the level of vice president, vice provost, dean, chancellor and above are not eligible. Two employees will be selected for the award, presented with $2,500 and honored at our Awards of Excellence ceremony. Learn more and submit nominations on the Thorud Leadership Award website by Friday, Nov. 30 at 5 p.m.
