If you do live in one of these counties, you have the option of enrolling either in a Kaiser Permanente NW plan or in the <a href=\"http:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/benefits\/health-insurance\/health-plans\/uniform-medical-plan\/\"><u>UMP Classic, Select, or CDHP plan<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019re eligible to enroll in a Kaiser Permanente NW plan if you\u2019re <a href=\"http:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/benefits\/health-insurance\/eligibility-for-insurance\/\">eligible for PEBB benefits<\/a> and live in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hca.wa.gov\/employee-retiree-benefits\/public-employees\/medical-plans-available-county\">plan\u2019s service area.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Use the information on this page for help choosing the plan that\u2019s best for you and your family. You can find <a href=\"https:\/\/isc.uw.edu\/user-guides\/benefits-enrollment-pebb-health-and-other-insurance-plans\/\">step-by-step instructions for enrolling in benefits<\/a> on the Employee Workday Help website.<\/p>\n<h4>Provider networks<\/h4>\n<p>A plan\u2019s network consists of doctors, clinics, hospitals, specialists, and other health care providers. Insurance pays the remaining percentage of the cost. With\u00a0<b>copayments<\/b>, on the other hand, you pay a fixed amount (for example, $20).<\/p>\n<p>Generally, you\u2019ll pay coinsurance after you visit the doctor when the bill arrives in the mail. Copayments are usually made at the doctor\u2019s office when you receive the service.<\/p>\n<p>While plans using coinsurance are more common, some people prefer plans with copayments because costs are more predictable.<\/p>\n<p>The table shows a sample of costs to help you quickly compare plans. The most direct way to find out is to call the plan and ask. Alternatively, you can read the plan\u2019s Certificate of Coverage (also called the benefits booklet), which describes the plan in detail. These booklets are long, but they can be helpful if you need to know something specific.<\/p>\n<p>If you simply want an overview of a plan\u2019s coverage and costs, take a look at the plan Summary of Benefits and Coverage, an easy-to-read summary that lets you quickly review health plans.
