{"id":262,"date":"2016-04-18T18:19:28","date_gmt":"2016-04-19T01:19:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/benefits\/?page_id=262"},"modified":"2025-12-30T12:07:18","modified_gmt":"2025-12-30T20:07:18","slug":"id-cards-for-retirees","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/benefits\/retirement-plans\/nearing-retirement\/id-cards-for-retirees\/","title":{"rendered":"ID cards for retirees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When you retire, you\u2019ll replace your employee Husky Card with one for retirees.<\/p>\n<p>Use this card for a range of retiree privileges including access to campus amenities, such as the IMA and the library, free parking at some campus locations, discounted tickets with Husky sports, and other discounts &#8212; see the full list by downloading the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/retirees.uw.edu\/resources\/privileges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">retiree privileges brochure<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Get your retiree Husky Card<\/h4>\n<p>Employees who file an online UW Retirement Application will receive an email confirmation of their approved UW retirement effective date. This email will also provide instructions about when and how to request your retiree Husky Card.<\/p>\n<p>Visit one of several <a href=\"https:\/\/hfs.uw.edu\/Husky-Card-Services\/Husky-Card\/Retiree-Husky-Card\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Husky Card account and ID centers<\/a> to have your photo taken and get a new card printed. To confirm your identity, you\u2019ll need your employee ID number and another form of photo identification, such as a driver\u2019s license or passport. Only one retiree card is available per household.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve lost your card and need to replace it, <a href=\"https:\/\/hfs.uw.edu\/Husky-Card-Services\/Husky-Card\/Retiree-Husky-Card\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">visit a Husky Card ID center<\/a> to replace it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Name change?<\/strong> All UW retirees should contact the UW Benefits Office for \u00a0name changes. Additionally, you should contact your retirement plan administrator (Department of Retirement Systems or TIAA) for assistance changing your name in their records.<\/p>\n<h4>Husky Cards for surviving spouses and partners<\/h4>\n<p>If your spouse or partner was a UW retiree and has died, contact the Benefits office to request a retiree Husky Card in your name.
